Dr. Maher grew up in Sacramento, CA and attended Brigham Young University, majoring in mechanical engineering. He later received a US Army scholarship to attend the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, graduating in 2004. Following this, he completed an advanced general residency at Fort Benning, Georgia, and attended Airborne School. (All the way!!).
Dr. Maher served as the brigade dental surgeon for the 25th Infantry Division, deploying with them for 15 months to Kirkuk, Iraq, where he was the sole dentist for around 3,500 soldiers. After leaving the military, he took over a small solo dental practice, which has since grown to three times its original size.
His dental philosophy centers on providing state-of-the-art, personalized care while continually striving to earn and maintain the confidence of his patients.
Dr. Maher and his wife, Ellie, have four children together. He has WAY too many hobbies – including tinkering around with cars and bikes, reading, skiing, and currently attempting to climb the 15 highest peaks in California.
